This activity will activate student's prior knowledge, while providing the teacher with a means to assess the students' current knowledge of the topic. Students will also describe what they hope to learn, providing the teacher with information to incorporate into the unit. At the completion of the unit, the students will revisit the KWL chart and fill in the information they learned providing the teacher with an assessment of learned material.
